Landfill – mechanical biological waste treatment – humification.
In Fischamend, around 30km east of Vienna, we operate a landfill site for non-hazardous waste in accordance with the Austrian Landfill Ordinance of 2008 (DVO 2008). It features a residual materials landfill and a mass waste landfill. The site also includes a mechanical biological waste treatment system and a humification system. We are therefore able to professionally dispose of various fractions, including excavated materials, construction rubble, slag from waste incineration plants, bulky waste, industrial waste, wastewater sludge, green waste, etc.
Additionally, we have a sealed, partially covered storage area for the interim storage of hazardous and non-hazardous waste (e.g. oil-contaminated soil following a hydrocarbon accident), prior to its assessment. Once an assessment has been carried out, we either send these fractions for treatment or dispose of them professionally at the on-site landfill.
Our site benefits from a railway connection, so waste can be delivered using ACTS containers or other container systems, which helps to reduce road traffic.
The humification plant processes biological waste to produce site-specific surface soil. It achieves this using the windrow composting technique.
